Making a difference with ONCALL careers

Create magic, every day.

There aren’t many jobs where you can go to work and help to change someone’s life.

At ONCALL, we do that every day.

We’re market leaders in the disability and welfare sector, Australia’s fastest growing area for jobs.

We have a reputation for putting our clients at the centre of every decision we make, while focusing on engaging and recruiting the best people to make it happen.

Working with ONCALL looks like:

Work-life balance

We understand everyone’s situation is unique. That’s why our flexible, family friendly roles in various locations are what will bring balance to your work and home life.

Career Development

We know that career fulfillment brings daily excellence. We value helping you grow and evolve and support you with best practice advice, refresher courses, client specific and accredited training. We invest in specialised training through ONCALL’s Registered Training Organisations.

Support & Wellbeing Focus

We work together to support and empower our team so that you feel valued, appreciated, and supported. We seek ways to continuously improve your day to day with employee surveys, wellbeing initiatives, feedback, rewards and recognition.

Start your journey.

All support worker applicants will go through eight steps. Depending on the services you will provide and your location, there are minor differences in the specific checks, qualifications, or training options you have.  Here’s what you should expect.

1. Application

Once your application has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt.

2. Application Review

Your application will be assessed by one of our Recruitment Consultants against our capability requirements and key selection criteria and you will be invited to complete an online assessment.

3. Online Assessment

You will be asked to complete an online assessment that is aligned with the job function and highlights your literacy and numeracy skills. If successful at this stage, you will be contacted to complete a phone interview.

4. Telephone Interview

You will be asked questions to find out a little bit more about yourself, your work history and hands-on support and your motivation for applying.

5. Online Group Interview

You will be asked to share your knowledge and industry experience through a series of behavioural based questions in front of a small group. An understanding of your role at ONCALL and the next stage of our recruitment process will also be shared.

6. Reference and Screening Checks

When prompted, you will need to have the contact details (professional email address and mobile number) of two referees that supervised you. We will also compile your current relevant checks, copies of relevant qualifications and recommend any training opportunities that may be relevant.

  • In Victoria, all support workers must supply NDIS Disability Worker Check. For Child, Youth and Family workers you must agree to the Carers Register check and complete an annual National Police Check.

    1. In Queensland, all support workers must agree to get a Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Clearance.

    2. We will ask for copies of your qualifications and key training including Medication, First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling. Evidence of both COVID vaccines and Booster will also be requested.

If you don’t have these, we may offer you training pathways with JobReady Plus or other training courses in these areas.

7. Candidate Assessment Briefing (CAB) Day

This is an information session, often held online. This is relevant to all work areas, locations and staff members at ONCALL Group Australia. We will cover relevant policies and procedures and employee expectations.

8. Commence Employment

Congratulations, you have successfully completed the ONCALL recruitment process. We hope that you enjoy being part of ONCALL and remind you to update your availability regularly.

  • I love working with clients one on one and building meaningful connections with different clients. I also enjoy the variety of different clients, different organizations and people across the houses that I work with. It feels like I’ve worked here much longer than I have with how easily I’ve been able to adjust and feel comfortable working with Oncall. The shifts are flexible which is perfect while I study, and my manager has been very supportive, providing shifts that accommodate me around my study.
