Excitement is in the air as the Sensory Lounge gears up to make its grand debut at the Brisbane Special Children’s Christmas Party—an event that brings the Christmas cheer to the hearts of thousands of children, families, and volunteers each year.
You’ll find us Saturday 16th December at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The festivities will bring even more inclusive fun with the addition of our Sensory Lounge - a space that sets a new standard for inclusion in events.
A Christmas Festivity of Fun.
The Brisbane Special Children’s Christmas Party is a magical event, hosting thousands of children with serious illnesses, physical or intellectual impairments, domestic violence situations, or living in underprivileged circumstances.
Children are treated to a day of celebrity stage shows, fun rides, interactive games, delicious food, face painting, and many more activities. The event includes a massive Santa’s Toy Room where each child receives 2-3 high-quality toys to call their own.
Unwrapping Inclusivity & Comfort.
The Sensory Lounge will feature a relaxing area for children and families to take a break, reset, and return to the party re-energized—an essential factor when accommodating people with sensory processing disorders who can easily get overwhelmed by crowds and noise. Additionally, our partners, TEC-Autistic Tribe QLD, will host a dedicated sensory activity section with various craft stations and sensory toys.
Beyond Convenience - Belonging and Inclusion
The collaboration between ONCALL and the Brisbane Special Children’s Christmas Party goes beyond the physical space. It’s a commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, has a voice and their needs are met. The Sensory Lounge is free for everyone to use.
