Transition into Disability
Are you qualified and experienced in an area of the community services sector and looking to transition into Disability?
A career in Disability can be extremely rewarding and open many opportunities that offer a variety of flexible shifts to support a healthy work/life balance. Some opportunities available at ONCALL include supporting clients in residential facilities, providing in-home support, 1:1 support, assisting clients with transportation to appointments, and as emergency support for leading Disability service providers.
Depending on your level of experience/transferable skills (eg delivering personal care, administering medication, supporting people with complex behaviours) we can assist in transferring your existing skill set into a fulfilling career in Disability with ONCALL.
Where you may be coming from
If you have a minimum of 6 months working experience in one of the following fields, we can assist you to transition into Disability care:
- Aged Care
- Child protection
- Family services
- Mental Health
- Nursing/Health Care
- Counselling
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services
What you need to transition
In addition to your relevant experience, you must have or be willing to undertake:
- NDIS Worker Screening check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) (VIC)
- Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check (DWES) (VIC)
- Blue Card (QLD)
- A current Yellow Card (QLD)
- A car and current valid driver’s licence
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Administration of Medication
- Manual Handling
- International police check (if applicable)
