Residential Team Leader – Out of Home Care (Various Locations)

We require an experienced Residential Team Leader – Out of Home Care with demonstrated experience in leading a team of staff, working with clients with complex needs. You will be known for your ability to lead by example supporting and encouraging our young people to reach their goals!

To be successful, you need to be driven to deliver the industry standard of care and support to young people across different residential settings.  Additionally, you will be:

  • Available and flexible to work in a variety of environments with one or multiple young people;
  • Experienced in working with young people with significant behavioural difficulties and strategies to manage complex situations;
  • Able to work with young people in accordance with their care plans ensuring a person-centred approach at all times;
  • Able to demonstrate excellent written skills along with an ability to maintain all the relevant documentation in a consistent and efficient manner; and work holistically with key stakeholders in the best interest of the young person (s).

Qualifications and experience required includes:

  • Proven experience working with young people in a residential trauma informed environment;
  • An understanding of “active support framework preferred but not mandatory.
  • Hold a Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (Residential & OOHC), or relevant qualification.
  • Completion or evidence of enrolment in government mandated four trauma top up units
  • Experience and open-minded approach supporting young people with complex needs, including behavioural issues;
  • Reliability and flexibility – capacity to adapt to changing environment;
  • Friendliness, empathy and proactive with a genuine intention to as part of a specialist team focused on making a difference in the young person’s life.
  • National Police Check, Medication, First Aid with CPR, Fire Safety and a Working With Children Check or a willingness to obtain.
