Our Recruitment Process

    Submit Application

    Once your application has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt.

    Telephone Interview

    You will be asked questions to find out a little bit more about you, your work history and hands on support and your motivation for applying.

    Application Reviews

    Your application will be assessed by one of our Recruitment Consultants against our capability requirements and key selection criteria and shortlisted for interview.

    Face to Face Interviews

    You will be asked to discuss in more detail your knowledge and experience through a series of behavioural based questions and quizzes and you will complete a simple language, literacy and numeracy test.

    Probity Checks

    You will need to supply two references, current Police Check and WWCC and agree to a DWES and Carers Register check. We will also ask for copies of your qualifications, as well as key training including Medication, First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling.

  • 6

    Candidate Assessment Briefing Day

    You will spend the morning on legislation, processes and relevant information a good support worker needs to know. Those who successfully pass the morning assessment will be given an employment contract to sign and after lunch you will meet representatives from each ONCALL business unit.

    Commence Employment

    Congratulations, you have successfully completed the ONCALL recruitment process and are now ready to accept shifts. We hope that you enjoy being part of ONCALL and remind you to update your availability regularly.

Employment Requirements

Disability Support Workers &
NDIS Support Workers

  • Current Criminal Record Check (Police Check)
  • International Police Check (if applicable)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Two reference checks
  • Current Level 2 First Aid
  • Current CPR
  • Certificate IV Disability or minimum six months recent relevant experience
  • Certification of Administration of Medication & Manual Handling
  • An understanding of the terms of the Disability Workers Exclusion Scheme and agreement to participate in the scheme

Out of Home Care Support Workers &
Child, Youth & Family Support Workers

  • Current Criminal Record Check (Police Check)
  • International Police Check (if applicable)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Two reference checks
  • Current Level 2 First Aid
  • Current CPR
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated experience as a Support Worker in residential care, child protection, out of home care
  • Certification of Assistance with Medication

 

In addition to the above requirements, it’s also a requirement for all applicants to participate and complete the following assessments during the process of their application and conducted during the pre-employment briefing.

  • DHHS Fire Safety Training
  • Incident report writing
  • Skills-based assessment

ONCALL Training College

A registered RTO that provides training to individuals and organisations. At our training facilities or through mobile trainers, we provide short courses, accredited courses and tailor made courses to support you with all your training needs.
