Our History

We have a connection to community services that stretches back decades.

Starting with Victoria, our founders, Anna and Robert Fleming, began their careers as disability support workers and advocates back in the 1970s. In 1993, they established Australia’s first labour hire agency dedicated to the disability and welfare sectors.

In 2005, Anna and Robert established ONCALL to deliver their person-centred approach to disability and child and youth services, which included individualised support and accommodation options.

And since 2017, we’ve been a registered training organisation, expanding our impact to ONCALL staff and the industry’s workforce.

A plan for growth

In January 2020, ONCALL got ready to expand our services to other parts of Australia. We partnered with Pemba Capital Partners and Mark Summerhayes, Robert Haybittel and Tom Matthews joined Anna and Robert as our Board members.

The Board and Management team prepared the organisation to expand and by March 2021 we announced a partnership with Ablecare in Queensland.

This is our first step towards providing our tailored support nationally, and most importantly, in a way that holds true to our core values and commitment to excellence.

What began in Melbourne in the 1970s with two passionate disability support workers is now destined to improve the lives of people right around the country.

A timeline of ONCALL

1993

  • Anna and Robert Fleming establish MSSA, the first disability and welfare labour hire agency in Australia.

 

2005

  • Anna and Robert open the doors of ONCALL Personnel & Management bringing nearly 30 years’ experience in the disability sector to their new venture.
  • ONCALL begins providing non-accredited training and works in partnership with TAFE and other registered training organisations to provide nationally-accredited training to staff and clients.

 

2012

  • ONCALL becomes a market leader in the community services sector and relocates from Camberwell to a larger building Surrey Hills in Melbourne to accommodate the growing ONCALL family.

 

2016

  • ONCALL begins providing NDIS services under the Australian Government’s new industry-transforming scheme.

 

2017

  • ONCALL Training College becomes a Registered Training Organisation offering specialised courses for the industry.

 

2019

  • ONCALL becomes an NDIS Registered Provider.
  • Anna and Robert enter into a partnership with Pemba Capital Partners that sees Pemba acquiring a majority interest in ONCALL.

 

2020

  • ONCALL rebrands as ONCALL Group Australia.

 

2021

  • ONCALL Group Australia expands interstate for the first time through a partnership with Queensland provider, Ablecare.
